The Foreign Ministry affirms Iraq’s Firm Position in Supporting the Palestinian Cause in Regional and International Forums

Baghdad The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative, Technical and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji, received the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Iraq Ahmed Aqel, in his office in the ministry building.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “The two sides discussed a number of issues of common interest, related to the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, as well as cooperation in the field of multilateral relations at the Arab , regional and international levels, and benefiting from that to support the cause of the Palestinian people.”

Al-Barzanji affirmed Iraq’s firm and permanent position in supporting the Palestinian cause in all regional and international forums, and the Iraqi government’s readiness to provide all facilities related to the work of the Palestinian embassy in Baghdad and its keenness to follow up on matters related to the Palestinian brothers residing within all Iraqi lands.

In turn, the Palestinian ambassador thanked Iraq’s role in rejecting normalization and legislating a law criminalizing normalization with the (Israeli) entity by the Iraqi parliament.
