Baghdad: The Iraqi Artists Syndicate mourned on Saturday the passing of artist Sabri Al-Ramahi, who died earlier that day, expressing its deep sorrow and regret at his loss.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the late artist Sabri Al-Ramahi was one of the most prominent figures in the Iraqi art and radio scene. Born in Baghdad on July 1, 1948, Al-Ramahi was a graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts.

Al-Ramahi began his career in 1970 as a director in the drama department of the Voice of the Masses radio station. Throughout his career, he presented a large number of radio works, most notably: “The Researchers,” “The Salt Cliff,” “The Lamps of Denshawai,” “The Baytouna,” “Al-Hutay’ah,” “The Most Famous Arab Singers,” and “The Fall of Granada,” in addition to many series and other works that contributed to enriching the Iraqi art scene.
