Baghdad: The Supreme Judicial Council on Tuesday dismissed a document circulating on social media that claimed to be an Interpol arrest warrant for Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, calling it a total forgery. According to Iraqi News Agency, the judiciary's media office stated that the document, which falsely claimed the Public Prosecution Presidency had requested Interpol to extradite al-Shammari, was completely fabricated. The council emphasized that the document was not legitimate and had no basis in reality. The council further warned the public against sharing fake government documents. It highlighted that security forces are actively tracking down those responsible for creating and disseminating the forgery. Legal action will be pursued against individuals involved in this criminal activity, aiming to deter similar incidents in the future.
