Tripoli: The Libyan Ministry of Defense announced the commencement of a ceasefire across all areas of tension within the capital, Tripoli, in a move aimed at protecting civilians, preserving state institutions, and avoiding further escalation on the ground.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry confirmed in an official statement that regular forces, in coordination with the relevant security authorities, have begun taking the necessary measures to consolidate the calm, including the deployment of neutral units at several points of contact to ensure stability and prevent any field clashes.

The ministry explained that its handling of the recent developments falls within the framework of its national responsibilities to maintain public order and confront any attempts to exploit the situation to advance agendas that conflict with the legitimate path of the state and its institutions.

The statement stressed the importance of unity and strengthening the rule of law, noting that dismantling random
armaments will remain a constant priority, and that no fait accompli will be permitted by force of arms outside official frameworks.
