The Minister of Construction Engages with Finnish Ambassador to Enhance Bilateral Construction Ties


Baghdad: The Minister of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities, Benkin Rekani, engaged in discussions with the Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Antti Potkonen, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations in the construction sector. The discussions aimed at exploring the participation of Finnish companies in various projects under the ministry’s purview.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry released a statement highlighting Minister Rekani’s emphasis on the current stability in Iraq. He noted that this stability is an encouraging factor for foreign companies to enter and participate in the Iraqi market. The minister expressed hope for Finnish companies to take part in the implementation of the country’s construction projects, contributing to Iraq’s ongoing construction boom.



In response, Ambassador Potkonen lauded the progress of urban development in Iraq. He commended the Ministry of Construction’s significant efforts, acknowledging the clear urban renaissance that has been achieved in the country. This mutual recognition underscores the potential for increased collaboration between Iraq and Finland in the construction sector.
