Baghdad: The Ministry of Health announced the destruction of approximately 116 kilograms of narcotics at the Baghdad Forensic Medicine Department. The Ministry stated in a statement that the destruction committee examined and destroyed quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances totaling approximately 116 kilograms, alongside 3,726 tablets of various narcotic and psychotropic substances and 561 capsules of Tramadol.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the destruction process was executed under the supervision of a specialized committee led by Judge Yasser Al-Khuzai, a representative of the Supreme Judicial Council. The process also saw the involvement of representatives from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the General Authority of Customs, the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs, and the Border Forces Command.
Judge Al-Khuzai confirmed the destruction took place in dedicated incinerators with temperatures reaching 1,100 degrees Celsius, ensuring the complete elimination of the materials and their transformation into ash, devoid of any traces.
