Moscow: The Russian Federal Security Service announced today that it had thwarted a new attempt to detonate a car bomb loaded with a powerful improvised explosive device on the Crimean Bridge.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the booby-trapped vehicle, a Chevrolet Volt, had entered Russia from Ukraine through the Russian-Georgian border. It was intended to be transported to the Krasnodar region before being handed over to another driver, who would unknowingly drive it onto the Crimean Bridge as a suicide bomber.

The statement added that security officers were able to swiftly uncover the plot, seize the vehicle, and dismantle the expertly concealed explosive device, confirming that all individuals involved in the operation had been arrested.
