The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Arrives in Baghdad for Bilateral Talks


Baghdad: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament of Iran, arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday. A statement from the office of the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that “First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi received the Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and the high-level parliamentary delegation accompanying him at Baghdad International Airport.”



According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Dulaimi emphasized “the historical relations that unite Iraq and Iran, and the shared bonds that connect the two brotherly peoples.” It pointed to “the importance of the visit in strengthening parliamentary cooperation and expanding the horizons of joint coordination, which contributes to developing bilateral relations and serving the mutual interests of the Iraqi and Iranian peoples.”
