Three Arrested for Smuggling Oil Derivatives in Anbar, Diwaniyah, and Najaf


Anbar: The Energy Police Directorate detachments arrested three individuals accused of smuggling oil derivatives and seized their vehicles in the governorates of Anbar, Diwaniyah, and Najaf.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were carried out by the Second and Sixth Energy Police Brigades in coordination with Energy Police Intelligence. The accused were apprehended for several violations related to the illegal smuggling of oil derivatives. The vehicles involved in the smuggling activities were confiscated. These actions were taken in accordance with Law No. 41 of 2008, which addresses the combating of oil and its derivatives’ smuggling.



The individuals are currently in detention as the authorities continue their investigation. The Energy Police Directorate emphasized the importance of upholding the law to prevent the illegal trade of oil derivatives, which poses significant threats to the country’s energy resources and economic stability.
