Traffic Uninterrupted at Zurbatiyah and Al-Mundhiriya Border Crossings

Baghdad: Lieutenant General Omar Al-Waeli, Head of the Border Ports Authority, has confirmed that traffic with Iran remains uninterrupted and continues around the clock at the Zurbatiyah and Al-Mundhiriya border crossings. This assurance comes amidst administrative and security arrangements being undertaken at several other border crossings.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Commission had previously announced that certain security authorities had commenced necessary administrative and security measures at various border crossings, leading to their temporary closure. The Commission’s press release highlighted that these steps were taken to address and rectify breaches and violations that had been identified at the affected crossings, with an emphasis on enhanced intelligence work, investigations, and audits.

Despite these closures, the Commission clarified that operations at the Zurbatiyah and Al-Mundhiriya crossings remain unaffected, ensuring that travelers can continue to cross the border without interruption.
