Trkiye Strongly Condemns Israeli Attacks on Lebanon

Ankara: The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli attacks that have displaced nearly one million people in Lebanon.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry issued a statement on Thursday, asserting, “We strongly condemn the Israeli attacks that have displaced nearly one million people from their homes in Lebanon.” The statement emphasized that these actions represent a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

The ministry’s statement further asserted, “It is clear that expansionist Israel aims to deepen regional instability.” The statement also addressed the actions of the Israeli government, stating, “The government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must not be allowed to continue its destructive practices in Gaza within Lebanon.”

Turkey expressed its commitment to standing in solidarity with Lebanon, emphasizing its support for the Lebanese people and state amidst the ongoing Israeli attacks that threaten Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The Israeli aggression against Lebanon intensified on March 2nd, following a joint offensive with the United States against Iran that began on February 28th. This offensive has resulted in hundreds of casualties, including the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
