Busan: The summit between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping resulted in an agreement on economic cooperation, energy support, and reciprocal visits. Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and energy, as well as to expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the agreement came during their meeting in Busan, where President Trump expressed his eagerness to visit China early next year and extended an invitation to President Xi to visit the United States. President Xi affirmed that China-U.S. relations remain generally stable under their joint leadership, emphasizing the need for both sides to stay on the right course and ensure that bilateral ties develop in a balanced and steady manner.
He noted that China’s economy continues to show strong momentum, with a growth rate of 5.2% in the first three quarters of the year, stressing his country’s confidence and capacity to face economic challenges. Xi added that the two countries’ economic teams have reached understandings to resolve key trade issues.
Xi underlined that dialogue is better than confrontation, calling for strengthened communication and cooperation in combating cybercrime, illegal migration, artificial intelligence, and public health. He also expressed China’s readiness to work with Washington to ensure the success of the upcoming G20 Summit, hosted by the United States, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum, to be hosted by China.
For his part, President Trump described China as a ‘great nation’ and President Xi as a ‘respected leader and longtime friend,’ affirming that bilateral relations remain strong and are moving toward a better future. He added that joint cooperation between the two powers will lead to greater global achievements.
