Baghdad: US President Donald Trump announced that he held a meeting with his advisors to discuss the Iranian issue and that he expects to make a “quick decision soon,” without revealing further details. His statements came after talks described as “positive” and “constructive” between the US and Iranian sides in the Sultanate of Oman, with an agreement to hold a new round this week.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump, who had previously threatened a military response if negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program failed, confirmed to reporters aboard Air Force One that he had discussed the Iranian issue with his advisors and that a decision would be made soon, saying: “We will make a decision on Iran very quickly.”
In a related context, the Axios website quoted two informed sources as saying that a second round of nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran will be held next Saturday in Rome.
