Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday the removal and destruction of all mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated in a post on his Truth Social platform that the US Navy has informed him about the successful removal or detonation of all mines in the international waters of the Strait.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump emphasized that Iran has been notified about the consequences of laying new mines. Any vessel or boat attempting to lay mines will be immediately and systematically destroyed. Trump added that the monitoring of the Strait is conducted through the Space Force, ensuring vigilance over the area as well as other strategic locations.

Trump highlighted the strict policy in place concerning the laying of mines, noting that this measure is part of broader efforts to maintain security and stability in the region.
