Baghdad: US President Donald Trump said today that the United States controls maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, while also indicating that what he called the renewed campaign against Iran will not last long. In press statements monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Trump said, “Our forces are in control of the Strait of Hormuz, where we secure the passage of numerous ships carrying millions of barrels of oil through the strait daily,” noting that “these operations are proceeding without any problems in most cases.”
According to Iraqi News Agency, Trump added that “the renewed campaign against Iran will not last long,” explaining that “Tehran was trying to rebuild its radar and missile systems, as well as attempting to develop a missile designed to shoot down naval mines, but we were able to destroy it.”
Trump continued, saying that “the attack carried out last night was very violent,” stressing that US forces are “fully prepared to carry out another attack whenever we want.”
