Amman: Tunisian artist and director Tawfiq Al-Jabali was chosen to deliver the message for the upcoming Arab Theatre Day. The Arab Theatre Institute has selected Al-Jabali for this honor, which will take place on January 10th during the opening of the 17th Arab Theatre Festival in Amman.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this selection acknowledges Al-Jabali’s significant contributions to the Tunisian and Arab theatre scene over nearly four decades. His roles as a pioneer, writer, actor, director, producer, and mentor have established him as a prominent figure. Al-Jabali is recognized for his works such as “Night Talk,” “The Dinosaur,” “The Madman,” and “Thirty and I’m Confused About You,” which reflect his unique vision and have influenced several generations.

Ismail Abdullah, Secretary General of the Authority, stated that Al-Jabali’s participation adds value to the path the message has charted since its inception. The Authority aims to have luminaries like Al-Jabali illuminate the path of theater with their ideas and looks forward to an impactful event. Al-Jabali is expected to contribute his wealth of creative and human experience to this significant occasion.

Al-Jabali joins a distinguished group of individuals who have delivered the message of Arab Theater Day. This group includes figures such as His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Samiha Ayoub, Yaqoub Shadrawi, Ezz El-Din Al-Madani, and many others who have previously contributed to this important cultural event.
