Baghdad: Turhan al-Mufti, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Regional Water Affairs, affirmed that “the memorandum signed with Turkey marks a new turning point in water relations between the two countries.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Mufti stated in a press conference: “The memorandum signed with Turkey came after negotiations that began last year.” He explained that the agreement with Turkey includes provisions for the sustainable water supply of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
