Ankara: Turkish media reveal that the Turkish army possesses locally manufactured hypersonic ballistic missiles. Turkish media outlets have revealed that Ankara possesses new domestically produced ballistic missiles, the “Typhoon Block-4,” with a range of approximately 1,500 kilometers, placing all of Israel within its direct range.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the missile, developed by the state-owned Roketsan company, is an upgraded version, heavier (7.2 tons) and longer (approximately 10 meters) than previous models. It also boasts enhanced maneuverability in its terminal phase, making it difficult for air defense systems to intercept, and an accuracy of less than 5 meters.
Estimates indicate that its speed exceeds Mach 5.5, a significant leap that grants Turkey the capability to conduct entirely independent strategic strikes without requiring US or European approval.
The missile represents a fundamental shift in the regional balance of power, transforming Turkey into a regional missile power and adding a new dimension to the psychological and political conflict with Israel, according to Israeli media. However, it does not pose an immediate military threat, given Israel’s defensive superiority and Turkey’s lack of intention for open confrontation. Nevertheless, the Israeli army must closely monitor these developments in anticipation of any changes in the strategic equation.
