Ankara: Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlik announced the arrest of 11 suspects in connection with forest fires across the country.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Gurlik stated in a press conference today that authorities have initiated legal proceedings regarding 64 fires in 22 provinces, identifying 43 suspects in the fires that have raged in forests since June 1st. He added that 18 of these suspects have been placed under judicial supervision.
The Turkish Justice Minister emphasized that anyone targeting the “green homeland” will be brought to justice, stressing that no fire suspected of arson will be allowed to go unpunished.
