Ankara: Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced the resumption of oil flows via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline as of Saturday morning.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Energy Minister stated in a post on his account on the Turkish “In Social” platform that the oil flow resumed at 07:07 from the Iraq-Turkey crude oil pipeline. This pipeline had been temporarily closed due to the earthquake that struck southern Turkey on February 6, 2023, before being restored by BOTAS on October 4, 2023.

Oil exports from the Fishkhabur field resumed with the presence of representatives from the Iraqi government, a delegation from the Kurdistan Region, and representatives of oil companies. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani had previously announced that oil produced in the region’s fields would be exported via the Iraq-Trkiye pipeline.
