Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar to discuss the recent escalation between Pakistan and India.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fidan and Dar focused on the developments that have heightened tensions between the neighboring countries. The situation escalated after the Indian army announced a military operation targeting “areas” in Pakistan and the Azad Kashmir region.

The Indian Army’s media office released a statement indicating that the operation targeted nine specific areas, emphasizing that no Pakistani military installations were targeted during the operation. Early reports from the region indicate that the attack resulted in the deaths of three people, including a child, and injured 12 others.

In response, Pakistan has denied India’s allegations, restricted Indian diplomatic personnel in Islamabad, and declared any interference in rivers outside the Indus Waters Treaty as an “act of war.” Additionally, Pakistan has suspended all trade with India and closed its airspace to Indian aircraft.
