Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed developments in Gaza and Syria with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported that Fidan and Al Thani exchanged views on Gaza and Syria last night in a phone call, without providing details.

Turkish sources also reported that Fidan also discussed efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza with members of the Hamas Political Bureau.

In early March, the first phase of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel, which went into effect on December 19, through Egyptian-Qatari mediation and US support, concluded, and the Palestinian movement adhered to it.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, evaded starting the second phase and resumed the genocide in Gaza on March 18, in response to the most extreme wing of his right-wing government, to achieve his political interests, according to Hebrew media.
