Baghdad: The head of Turkish intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin, engaged in crucial discussions with Khalil al-Hayya, the newly appointed head of Hamas's political bureau, and his delegation about advancing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place in Istanbul, where Kalin addressed Israel's ongoing violations against Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The discussions highlighted the continuous attacks on Gaza and the urgent need for the international community to intervene to halt Israeli aggressions.

The dialogue also covered Israel's illegal settlement activities and the escalating violence by settlers. Turkey reiterated its commitment to supporting Gaza politically and by enhancing humanitarian aid.

The meeting underscored Turkey's role in rallying international support to stop the violence in Gaza and uphold Palestinian rights in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The collaborative efforts of Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt in pursuing peace in Gaza were acknowledged.

The Hamas delegation expressed their appreciation for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's contributions to peace efforts in the region.
