Baghdad, Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, the neutralization of 142 “terrorists” and the destruction of 57 caves and 110 hideouts in the “Claw of Lightning” and “Claw of Thunderbolt ” operations in northern Iraq.
Anatolia News Agency said “In a press briefing in the capital, Ankara, the Ministry’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Major Pinar Karah, stated that “the fight against terrorism continues firmly.”
Kara added that “Turkey’s struggle against terrorist organizations continues inside and outside the country,” noting that “the armed forces have carried out, since the beginning of this year, 181 operations against terrorists, and were able to neutralize 1,162 terrorists during them.”
She pointed out that “the Turkish forces targeted 7,584 points belonging to the PKK terrorist organization in northern Iraq, as part of the operations Claw of Lightning and Claw of thunderbolt.”
Kara pointed out that, “since the beginning of this year, the Turkish forces have neutralized 693 terrorists in northern Syria, including members of the terrorist organization ISIS.”
