Turkish President: Ahmed al-Sharaa and Abdi Shahin’s Agreement Will Serve Peace in Syria


Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed optimism about the agreement signed between Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Farhad Abdi Shahin, commander of the “SDF” forces, stating that its full implementation will contribute to security and peace in Syria. Erdogan shared these remarks during an iftar banquet in Ankara, emphasizing Turkey’s stance that every effort to rid Syria of terrorism is a positive step.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish presidency announced that the agreement aims to integrate the “SDF” forces into the Syrian Arab Republic’s institutions, affirming the unity of Syrian territories and opposing any form of division. Erdogan highlighted that the agreement’s beneficiaries would be all Syrians, remarking on Turkey’s desire for peace and prosperity in the region without discrimination based on religion, sect, or ethnicity.



Erdogan further emphasized the importance of maintaining Syria’s territorial integrity and strengthening its unity and solidarity. He urged for mutual respect among Arabs, Turks, and Kurds, stating that embracing one another and acknowledging each other’s sensitivities is essential to thwart conspiracies and secure a prosperous future.
