Turkish President Urges Global Action Against Israel’s Policies in Gaza

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the international community not to tolerate Israel's genocidal policy toward the Palestinian Gaza Strip. Erdogan stressed in a phone call with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof on Tuesday the necessity of the international community fulfilling its responsibilities to halt Israel's genocidal policies against Gaza, according to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Israel suddenly and violently intensified its genocidal crimes against the Palestinians at dawn on Tuesday, launching extensive airstrikes across most areas of the Gaza Strip and targeting civilians during the pre-dawn meal, leaving hundreds dead, wounded, and missing within hours.

The Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate explained in its statement that Erdogan and Schoof discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and some regional and international issues of common interest during the call. Erdogan stressed that Turkey will make efforts to strengthen cooperation with the Netherlands, especially with regard to trade and economic relations.

They also addressed the Russian-Ukrainian war, with Erdogan explaining that the steps needed to end the war cannot succeed with an approach that excludes either country. It is worth noting that Russia has been launching a military attack on its neighbor, Ukraine, since February 24, 2022, and has demanded that it end only if Kyiv "renounces" its membership in Western military entities. Kyiv considers this to be "interference" in its internal affairs.
