Mosul: A young man in his twenties and an 11-year-old boy have drowned in separate incidents in the Tigris River, located south of Mosul, in the Hamam al-Alil district.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Nineveh Police reported that rescue teams and relevant authorities initiated search operations for the young man and successfully recovered his body. The incident underscores the risks associated with the river, which is a popular but hazardous location for locals.

In a separate but related incident, the body of an 11-year-old boy was recovered from the same river area. The rescue teams identified the boy as someone who had been reported missing earlier. Both bodies have been transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department to complete the necessary legal procedures.
