Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with Killing in Diyala

Baghdad: The Diyala Police Command announced the arrest of two suspects in the murder of a citizen in the Jabara district, northeast of Baquba, last week.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the police command stated in a press release: "Following up on the investigation into the murder that occurred last week in the Jabara district of Qara Tapa, in which a citizen was killed, the Diyala Anti-Crime Units, in cooperation with the Khanaqin and Kirkuk Anti-Crime Departments, arrested two more suspects who had fled to Kirkuk Governorate. This followed continuous security and investigative pursuit."

The statement added, "The necessary legal measures have been taken against the suspects, and they have been referred to the judiciary in accordance with Article (406) of the Iraqi Penal Code, which pertains to the crime of murder."

The command affirmed its continued security and intelligence operations to pursue those wanted by the judiciary and bring them to justice to receive their just punishment according to the law.

Earlier last week, the Diyala Police Command announced the arrest of two individuals involved in the murder of a citizen and the concealment of his body in the Jabara district, northeast of Baquba.
