UN Announces Arrival of First Baby Food Shipment to Gaza After 11 Weeks of Blockade

Baghdad: Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, St©phane Dujarric, announced the arrival of the first baby food shipment to Gaza after 11 weeks of blockade. He said in a statement: "It is essential to distribute this aid in Gaza, and we need more aid to cross."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dujarric explained the logistical challenges involved in delivering the aid. "Israel is asking us to unload the supplies and reload them after our team arrives from inside the Gaza Strip," he stated. This process adds a layer of complexity to the already challenging task of delivering humanitarian aid.

He also highlighted the delays faced by the teams on the ground. "One of the teams waited hours today for Israeli approval to enter the Kerem Shalom crossing and load the supplies," Dujarric pointed out. These delays have been a significant obstacle in ensuring timely delivery of essential aid to the people in Gaza.
