Baghdad: The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights announced “Nearly 800 Palestinians have been killed over the past six weeks while trying to access aid in the Gaza Strip, including 10 people killed on Friday while waiting to receive food rations near the city of Rafah, south of the Strip.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission explained that “798 people were killed between late May and July 7 while seeking aid, including 615 people who fell in the vicinity of aid distribution sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is supported by the United States and Israel and has effectively replaced the UN-led relief network.”

‘When people stand in line for food and medicine and are faced with a choice between being shot or eating, this is completely unacceptable,’ said UNHCR spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani from Geneva.
