Nasiriyah: The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), Ambassador Mohammed Al-Hassan, conducted an exploratory river tour in the Nasiriyah marshes today, Saturday, accompanied by the Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Diab, and the dismissed Governor of Dhi Qar, Murtada Al-Ibrahimi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the visit aimed to assess the current state of the marshes and discuss potential initiatives for their conservation and development. Ambassador Al-Hassan’s tour is part of a broader effort to understand the challenges faced by the marshlands, which hold significant ecological and cultural importance for the region.
