Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on Sunday for the resumption of the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip “immediately”, in response to Israeli announcement to suspend the entry of goods and supplies to the Strip.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, St©phane Dujarric, Guterres’ spokesman, confirmed in a statement that the Secretary-General “calls for the immediate resumption of the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and urges all parties to make every effort to prevent a return to hostilities in Gaza.”

Israel had decided earlier yesterday, Sunday, to stop the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and to close the crossings “until further notice.”
