According to National Iraqi News Agency, countries must stop Israel before it silences all journalists in Gaza. They noted that Israel is preventing international media from entering and killing local journalists who are reporting on the genocide and famine in Gaza without accountability.

The UN experts called for an independent criminal investigation into the killing of journalists in Gaza and the attacks against them in the Palestinian territories. They also called for an end to Israel’s unprecedented impunity and for full and free access to international media.

The experts confirmed that Israel has killed 248 Palestinian journalists since the beginning of the war in October 2023, in a deliberate attempt to prevent the transmission of the truth.

Hundreds of media outlets in more than 50 countries launched a widespread protest campaign demanding accountability for Israel, an end to the killing of journalists, and the protection of media freedom.

On Tuesday, the Israeli army killed Palestinian photojournalist Rasmi Jihad Salem in an Israeli drone strike on a gathering of Palestinian citizens in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza City.
