University Ambassadors Initiative Launched by Nineveh Journalists Syndicate and University of Mosul


Mosul: The Nineveh branch of the Journalists Syndicate, in collaboration with the University of Mosul, has officially launched the “University Ambassadors” initiative aimed at fortifying media partnerships. This initiative was announced during a visit by the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate branch in Nineveh, Iyad Talab, to the University of Mosul, where he met with the university’s president, Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Talab highlighted the importance of fostering cooperation between journalistic and academic institutions. He stated that journalists who possess syndicate membership cards will be designated as ‘University Ambassadors,’ granting them enhanced access to official information and data, thus enabling them to cover university activities with professionalism and objectivity.



Talab elaborated that this initiative is a significant step in building communication bridges between the university and the journalistic community, thereby enhancing the academic institution’s role in serving society. Furthermore, the meeting addressed opportunities for journalists and media professionals to share their practical experiences with students enrolled in media and digital media departments.



Additionally, Talab commended the University of Mosul for its scientific and medical advancements, particularly the contributions of the Medical Research Hospital and the Heart Surgery Center in delivering medical services to the public. He expressed that this new partnership would bridge academic studies with field experience, preparing a new generation of media professionals equipped with advanced skills.



The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative plaques, with the university president presenting the University of Mosul plaque to the head of the union branch, recognizing his efforts in supporting the journalistic community and enhancing cooperation with academic institutions.
