Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned of the risks of prolonging the nine-week blockade on the Gaza Strip, which is already underway. The UNRWA stated in a statement today that it has thousands of trucks ready to enter, and its teams in Gaza are ready to expand aid delivery.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, it noted that Israel has been preventing the entry of all humanitarian, medical, and commercial aid into the Gaza Strip for more than nine weeks.
For its part, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that Palestinians are dying in the Gaza Strip, which has been under a complete Israeli blockade for the third consecutive month, as part of the ongoing genocide for more than a year and a half. It stated that 70% of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are in areas where Israeli forces are present, or under evacuation orders, or both.
It stressed that the United Nations and its partners are ready to intensify aid provision to the Gaza Strip immediately after the Israeli blockade, which has been in place since March 2, is lifted.
