Baghdad: The US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson has entered the Arabian Sea, bolstering the presence of two aircraft carriers in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, which carries the Second Carrier Air Wing, is operating under the US Central Command (CENTCOM) to support the deployment of these carriers in the sensitive area.

The Carl Vinson is part of Carrier Strike Group 1, with its headquarters located at Naval Base San Diego, California. The deployment of the Carl Vinson comes at a time of escalating tensions in the Middle East, with an increased deployment of US forces near the Strait of Hormuz and the Arabian Sea. This strategic move aims to “protect US interests,” monitor Iranian activities, and secure maritime shipping lanes in one of the world’s most crucial regions.

The aircraft carrier Carl Vinson is recognized for its involvement in numerous significant military missions. It is equipped to conduct combat and reconnaissance operations, supported by its fighter aircraft, helicopters, and advanced logistical and technical capabilities.
