Baghdad: The Charg© d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Baghdad, Joshua Harris, affirmed that “Iraq and the United States are partners in combating terrorism.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Justice stated in a press release: “Minister Khalid Shawani received the Charg© d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Baghdad, Joshua Harris. During the meeting, they discussed mechanisms for cooperation and joint coordination between the two sides, particularly regarding procedures for receiving and transferring foreign terrorist prisoners from Syria to Iraqi correctional facilities.”

Harris praised the Iraqi government’s cooperation on this matter, emphasizing that “Iraq and the United States are partners in combating terrorism, and continued coordination between the two countries contributes to supporting joint efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.”
