US Destroys Key Iranian Nuclear Facilities, Says Special Envoy

Wittkov: The United States has destroyed the main enrichment centers at three facilities in Iran. US Special Envoy Steve Wittkopf stated that the United States destroyed key enrichment and conversion facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow, Iran. Speaking to Fox News, Wittkopf said, "Iran said it has an indisputable right to enrich uranium." He added, "We informed Iran that we have an indisputable right to prevent them from enriching."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Iran informed the United States that it possessed 460 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent. Wittkopf noted that "uranium enriched to 60 percent can be raised to weapon-grade level within a week or ten days."

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran would have acquired a nuclear weapon within two weeks had the United States not launched its current military operation. As Wittkopf told Fox News on March 3, a deal was offered to supply Iran with nuclear fuel from abroad in exchange for halting enrichment, but the offer was rejected outright. He considered the Iranian negotiators' boasting about possessing 460 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent a clear indication of Tehran's intention to maintain a weapons capability, as he put it.
