Riyadh:The US Embassy has renewed its security alert for travel restrictions involving Saudi airports following reports of additional attacks targeting King Khalid Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd Airport in Dammam.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Embassy stated that US government personnel still require special authorization to use airports in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam and advised exercising extreme caution at all major airports.
US citizens have been advised to prepare for potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. They are encouraged to verify flight status directly with airlines and airports. As alternatives to air travel, the Embassy suggested using private vehicles, Saudi Railways trains, and buses operated by SAT and SAPTCO.
The Embassy also maintained other restrictions for its staff, including a ban on travel within 20 miles of the Yemeni border and a requirement for special permits to visit Jizan, Asir, Najran, Qatif, Yanbu, and Taif. Routine and emergency consular services continue to be provided.
