Baghdad: US envoy Tom Barrack praised the oil agreement signed between Iraq and Turkey, describing it as "brilliant diplomatic leadership from both sides." Barrack commented on the agreement with Turkey regarding the transport and loading of Iraqi crude oil via the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline to the port of Ceyhan, emphasizing the significance of this diplomatic move.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi confirmed that the agreement between Iraq and Turkey on transporting and loading Iraqi crude oil via the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline to the port of Ceyhan is a strategic achievement. Al-Zaidi stated in a post on the same platform that the agreement ensures the smooth flow of oil exports and enhances economic cooperation between the two nations. The deal stipulates a minimum of 750,000 barrels per day to be transported.

Al-Zaidi further elaborated that Iraqi and Turkish companies will commence operations in line with the agreement, while both governments will work towards finalizing a comprehensive agreement. This broader agreement is expected to encompass the oil, electricity, and water resources sectors, alongside other areas of cooperation, aimed at enhancing shared interests and supporting development and stability.
