Washington: America does not want to control the Strait of Hormuz, as US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday, emphasizing that the United States is not seeking control but feels compelled to act due to concerns over Iran's potential acquisition of nuclear weapons. Trump mentioned, "We don't want to control the Strait of Hormuz, but we are compelled to do what is necessary because Iran cannot be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon." He also noted that while Iran is interested in reaching an agreement, it has not yet shown readiness but is expected to be prepared soon.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ali Akbar Velayati, advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, declared that Iran has embarked on a new phase of deterrence. Velayati warned that any assumption of a low-cost strike against Iran is misguided, with potential repercussions extending beyond military conflicts to affect the energy market and global economy. He stressed that actions by the White House involving threats, regional alliances, and European lobbying would not enhance security and stability but might instead propagate the consequences of such mistakes worldwide.

Additionally, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported earlier on Wednesday that the United States had communicated to Israel its intention to intensify its attacks on Iran.
