Washington: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant warned that the government shutdown, which has paralyzed the work of federal institutions since the beginning of this month, could lead to the cessation of salaries for US military personnel in mid-November. Bessant said in televised statements that his department is only able to pay salaries at the beginning of the month, noting that the continuation of the crisis could prevent their disbursement later.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the government shutdown means the cessation of the work of non-essential federal institutions, paralyzing many sectors in the country with the exception of some vital services.
