Wasit: Wasit Governor Ali Hassan Salimoun announced the suspension of official working hours in all governorate departments on Sunday, August 2, 2026, coinciding with the Arba'een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the governor stated that the decision to suspend work was made to allow citizens to perform the pilgrimage rituals. He emphasized that security and service departments are exempt from the decision to ensure the continued provision of services to citizens and pilgrims during the Arba'een pilgrimage.
