Weather Forecasters Announce Onset of Autumnal Climate Shift

Baghdad: The Weather Forecasting Department of the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring has announced the beginning of a gradual climate shift towards autumn.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated in a press release that September 1st marks the start of autumn from a climatic perspective, indicating that Iraq and the surrounding region are entering an important transitional phase in terms of weather patterns. The Authority noted that during autumn, there is a gradual change in weather characteristics, with decreasing temperatures and a shift in prevailing weather systems, which leads to the more active part of the rainy season.

The Authority explained that September is a significant transitional month. While the country may continue to experience some summer-like weather conditions at the start of the month, the likelihood of moderate weather and further weather changes increases gradually, especially towards the end of September.

The Authority also affirmed its commitment to ongoing monitoring and analysis of weather and climate changes. It emphasized the continuous issuance of forecasts, reports, and weather warnings based on available scientific data.
