Winter in Iran’s Baneh: A Season of Resilience and Hope

Baneh: This winter, the snow-clad nature of Baneh in western Iran, and its surrounding rural and mountainous areas presents rare scenes of resilience from the ancient Zagros oaks, whose tree-ring dating narrate the passage of decades and centuries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baneh has faced a water shortage and groundwater decline in recent years. However, adequate and widespread snowfall in winter has raised hopes for replenishing water reserves.
