Baghdad: Yasser al-Maliki, head of the State of Law parliamentary bloc, has underscored the necessity of hastening the completion of the cabinet to improve the effectiveness of state institutions and bolster political stability.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the bloc revealed that al-Maliki met with the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Glenn Miles, at his office in Baghdad. During the meeting, al-Maliki reiterated the significance of rapidly finalizing the cabinet to strengthen the operational capacity of state institutions and support political steadiness. He highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to enforce the rule of law, enhance economic conditions, and create an environment conducive to investment and employment opportunities.
The discussions between al-Maliki and Ambassador Miles also covered recent regional developments. Both parties emphasized the importance of increasing international efforts to support security and stability, fostering dialogue and understanding to reinforce regional stability, and protecting the interests of the region’s populace.
