Baghdad: The head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, commemorated the genocide perpetrated against the Yazidi community. In a statement, Maan emphasized the importance of remembering the victims and the resilience of the survivors who have faced terrorism with patience and faith. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Maan stated that the Yazidis are an integral component of the Iraqi people, firmly established in the nation's history, civilization, and cultural and social diversity. He stressed the need for national unity, urging all to reject hatred and extremism, which threaten to tear apart the entire Iraqi fabric. Maan highlighted that Iraq's strength lies in its diversity and the unity of its people against terrorism and obscurantist ideologies. He called for solidarity to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies, underscoring the significance of national cohesion in overcoming challenges and fostering a peaceful society.
