Antalya: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen, Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani, at his residence in Antalya on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum. The meeting was attended by Majid Al-Lajmawi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ankara.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister Al-Zindani sought the meeting to address statements made by Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, on the “X” platform. Al-Eryani’s statements suggested that the Houthi militia had expanded their activities in Iraq in coordination with Iraqi factions. Al-Zindani clarified that these statements were inaccurate and did not reflect the positions of the Yemeni government or presidency, emphasizing that they were personal views and not official stances. He assured that no official position would be taken that could harm Iraqi-Yemeni relations.

During the discussion, both ministers exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Al-Zindani presented the latest security and political developments in Yemen and expressed gratitude for Iraq’s efforts in supporting regional stability.

Fuad Hussein conveyed Iraq’s concern over the ongoing turmoil in Yemen, reiterating Iraq’s support for political solutions and dialogue among Yemenis as the sole means to achieve lasting peace. He also commended the strong historical ties between Iraq and Yemen.

Furthermore, Al-Zindani confirmed the Yemeni president’s participation in the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad, expressing Yemen’s full support for Iraq in ensuring the event’s success. In response, Fuad Hussein assured that Baghdad would utilize all necessary resources to ensure the summit’s success, aiming to enhance Arab solidarity and address common issues.
