Baghdad: The Minister of Culture is currently reviewing the preparations for the 7th Baghdad International Theater Festival. Acting Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, Sarwa Abdul Wahid, held a meeting with Dr. Jabbar Jawdi, Director General of the Cinema and Theater Department, to discuss the festival’s arrangements. The upcoming festival will honor the esteemed artist Raed Mohsen, celebrating his artistic contributions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister highlighted the significance of the festival as a cultural and artistic platform that aims to rejuvenate the theater movement and promote cultural exchange. She emphasized the necessity of unified efforts to ensure the festival’s success.

The meeting focused on various organizational and artistic components, including the allocation of necessary resources, planning the event program, and establishing mechanisms for hosting delegations and theater groups. Additionally, media and logistical arrangements were discussed to ensure the festival reflects the rich history of Iraqi theater and its cultural importance.
