Ankara: The Iraqi-Turkish Committee held its third meeting in Ankara today, Thursday. The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to address and manage shared water resources between the two nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Permanent Joint Water Committee between Iraq and Turkey was attended by key representatives from both countries. Leading the Iraqi delegation was the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, Hussein Abdul Amir Beka, while the Turkish side was led by the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry, Berris Akinci. The meeting also saw the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador to Ankara, Majid Al-Lajmawi.

The discussions during the meeting focused on recent developments concerning water resources and explored strategies for both preserving and utilizing these resources efficiently. Both sides aimed to resolve various issues related to the water file, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the two friendly countries to ensure sustainable water managem
ent and mutual benefits.
